WARNING: “Twits” trying to phish at Twitter

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Of course, this had to happen at some point. Some bonehead(s) decided that they are going to go after the mass appeal and market of Twitter.com and try to hack in by using a phishing scheme. Well, Twitter has been all over this, as have the majority of the members, so I don’t expect this one to cause any lasting damage.

For more information, here’s the link to the blog post direct from Twitter.com: http://blog.twitter.com/2009/01/gone-phishing.html

Just to reiterate what they say in their post, if you are unsure if you’ve been “attacked” or if you can’t log in to Twitter, either change your password by the regular means, or use the password recovery if you’ve been locked out of your Twitter account.

Kudos to the staff at Twitter for doing everything necessary to squelch this as fast as possible. That said, it is up to each of us to know what it is that we are clicking/signing up for/approving on-line BEFORE taking that action. Our safety and security is in our own hands, so be wise about what you are doing on-line and if in doubt, DON’T do it! Get it checked out first by a professional.

As an aside, it is always a good idea to change your passwords on a regular basis, especially if you do anything with money on-line. Also make sure your anti-virus, spam filter and firewall are updated daily and that they are more than adequate to the job at hand.

Free “Recession Busting” video

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Will you act during the economic downturn, or simply REACT?

Don’t let fear of the recession guide your goal setting plans for 2009. This is a BIG mistake…! Fear is an emotional response, only good for short-term survival. When you’re in “fight or flight” mode, you’re not thinking clearly about the path you’re running… You’re just RUNNING!

So your efforts lack strategy, planning, and insight. I want you to do more than just survive 2009. Internet shopping is predicted to hit $145.1 Billion in the coming year, a significant 14% increase — despite the recession!

Consumers will be spending more time at home, using their computers for everything from bargain hunting and product research to upgrading skills.

Studies show this shift is ALREADY well underway…! I don’t want the Big “R” to stop you from pursuing exciting personal, financial, and business goals in 2009, so I’ve arranged to get you exclusive VIP access to an important video that Internet marketing guru Derek Gehl just put up on his site.

Derek’s been successfully selling on the Internet for over a decade now, and he’s brought in over $100 MILLION in sales… so he’s by far the BEST person to advise you about how to thrive in ANY market.
When you watch his FREE Goal Setting Video, you’ll discover how you can make 2009 your richest year yet:

Tired of everyone trying to SELL you something?

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

I don’t know about YOUR inbox, but there’s no shortage of soft-sell (or even hard-sell) pitches making their way into my email mix.

“Buy this, buy that.”

“THIS is the greatest!”

“For the first time ever. Now or never.”

Blah … blah …

Don’t get me wrong, I love marketing. Truly I do. I love the art of it. I love the science of it. I love the logic of it. I most definitely love the profits of it… so these emails are welcomed as I take and borrow from them for my own promotions.

But ENOUGH WITH THE SALES PITCHES ALREADY, right?

Well…

I’m an offender! (big surprise, eh? lol) Because I’m about to try *my best* to SELL YOU something.

The difference is, this “something” won’t cost you a penny. This isn’t about spending money. Instead, I want to “sell you” on an idea, a lesson, one that should be etched onto a “10 Commandments of Actually Making Money” stone.

Here it is:

“You should only take flying lessons from a HIGHLY TRAINED and EXPERIENCED flight instructor!”

Because if you DON’T do that, then not only will you find yourself spending money on tips, suggestions, ebooks and courses from “new flying enthusiasts” (vs. expert flight instructors), but you’ll also end up LOSING money on these marginally effective, theory based tactics and losing a lot of TIME in the mix as well.

And if you’re willing to be REALLY honest with yourself … there’s a great chance that your past few months, or even past few years are a perfect example of what I’m talking about. Write back and let me know if I’m wrong! (But, I don’t expect to get too many comment replies back on that one).

Here’s my point (and the no-money, nothing to buy sales pitch of it)… There is a contest running called “The Massive Marketing Arsenal Giveaway” (or, as Carl Galletti calls it, “The Mother of All Offers” contest). The prize is a library of education from Dan Kennedy… the one man who offers up the best and most profitable advice on likely the perfect home-business model: information marketing. Some of his students have risen from NOTHING but a kitchen table and a few hundred bucks to literally $117 million in sales.

He teaches the teachers.

Beginners, 6-figure earners, all the way to billion dollar companies are part of his client / student list. Yet you can walk away with over $5000 worth of his best tips and best advice for NOTHING!

All for answering this one question: “Which  specific idea/solution of the 77 listed in Dan’s letter would you like to learn more about and why?” (The link to the ‘77 reasons’ is provided on the contest page).

Have YOU made your way over to this contest to post your reply? Along the way, you also pick-up the 90-minute audio course “Information Marketing: How To Create Your Fortune With Information Products” and can pickup a truely WOW gift (worth $397) … one of only Resale Rights Licenses to the “Future of Information Marketing: Pros, Cons and Predictions” course.

You get these last 2 gifts whether you win or not. But just for posting your reply to that ONE question, you are automatically entered into the draw to win the entire $5000+ library from Dan Kennedy.

Here’s the link:
Dan Kennedy’s Info-Riches

The sad thing is, you have a VERY good shot at winning … seeing as only a minimal number of individuals have bothered to take advantage of this contest. (The masses are too busy wasting time reading yet another “quick fix” sales pitch).

So there it is…

I gave it my best shot. I SINCERELY apologize if I wasn’t able to communicate the importance of taking this one lazy step (to post your reply on the contest page). That one lazy step could win you a library that could absolutely revolutionize your life.

Head over to the page below, register for your gifts and follow the link directly to the contest page. Go win your future!

Dan Kennedy’s Info-Riches

All the best,

Ross “The Pit Boss”
